conky-manager2 VS conky

AFAIK, conky manager is unmaintained, although there is a fork you can try to build yourself.

The fork of conky manager which is conky-manager2 is maintained and works with the newer conky syntax based on Lua. https://github.com/zcot/conky-manager2 Do a web search and you can find a PPA that has it.

So what I did to get it working is installed conky from the repo/discovery store. I then manually installed conky-manager2 which you can get here: https://github.com/zcot/conky-manager2

I have kind of the same problems. So, that is why I answer. I came across conky when using MX Linux. they have a wonderfully working Conky manager, which can be downloade here: https://github.com/zcot/conky-manager2

Maybe put something like echo $(($(date -d 24-Dec +%j) - $(date +%j))) days into your bashrc. Conky should be able to display it nicely on the desktop.

And https://github.com/brndnmtthws/conky is great for desktop HUDs. Very customisable.

Funny meme btw. Personally, I use xorg with 3 displays. Fortunately, the resolution is same on all screens (full HD). I use Komorebi for live wallpapers and conky for sidebar. It works flawlessly.
