collections VS Laravel

Theoretically, our domain should only contain pure PHP code without any external dependencies. Nonetheless, there are some libraries that we want to use in our domain, such as ramsey/uuid to generate UUIDs, or brick/math to work safely with numbers. Another usual example of an allowed external library in our domain is doctrine/collections when we use Doctrine as an ORM, because the relationships between entities must be of type Doctrine\Common\Collection.

How you want to do the grouping is up to you. Maybe look into using Doctrine Collections: https://www.doctrine-project.org/projects/collections.html

You can also look at Doctrine Collections as an example of a library doing something similar and making full use of generics. Look at all the annotations that mention `T` or `TKey` in https://github.com/doctrine/collections/blob/c1ec9823f9250fefb274cccf62970b5c167e6bc7/lib/Doctrine/Common/Collections/Collection.php

Hope this saves a future team from unexpected behavior resulting in (potential) production data loss.

When using Postgres, Laravel's default method for truncate uses the cascade option, which will ignore foreign key constraints and potentially wipe large amounts of data with no confirmation or warning.

I am just exploring middleware in this post, but as you can see this is quite a different approach than we've seen historically. I sat there scratching my head, "How do I set up my own middleware? How do I change the defaults?" I had to explore the Illuminate\Foundation\Configuration\Middleware class to find out.

It does not mean you should absolutely use it everywhere, but it can make sense for your case. Many frameworks, like Laravel use it to compose new projects.

This same system has been used in Laravel since version 4.0* albeit in the more PHP plain way, using call_user_func_array (Laravel Model Class).
