Some early real world battery results for the Pixel 7 Pro
With my MacBook and Dell Laptop, I have been able to use a power manager (in the case of the Dell) or scripts (in the case of the MacBook) to limit the charge level to 80%. It is my undertstanding that keeping a Li-Ion battery at 100% constantly is Not A Good Thing - which laptops plugged in over the course of a working day would almost certainly produce. This effect I think is more significant than charging to 100% and then switching to battery power immediately (to reduce the time spent at 100% to an absolute minimum) - which is what Apple offer with their iPhone optimised charging. That they do this does confirm that not doing something to limit the time spent at 100% is detrimental.
- This made me happy, saving a crap ton of battery cycles this way, and I can run whatever I want w/o worry.

clean new workstation, added the plant for the picture tbh
I know it obvious but get a bigger tray ! I found this that would fit , depending on the processor you have heat accumulating might be an issue with this tray... more over if you're gonna keep your laptop connected to power I recommend using this script to limit charge to 60%

Is it worth it to replace the battery?
Use a tool to limit the max charge to 80% and don't let it drop below 20%. It will be fine for many more years.

Experience after 2 battery replacements for 15 MBP
Although my laptop wasn't used much, I never left it plugged in for long time and occasionally discharged it. I also use a charge limiter and keep it at 48% for when it has to be plugged in at a desk.

14" MBP M2 Max - Battery Cycle After 1 Week of Use!??!
If when you’re using your mac always plugged in or docked, I recommend using BCLM so it limit your maximum percentage of charge. E.g I set mine to charge maximum at 58%, if will not charge beyond that.

I have a brand new map 16 2021 - might there be a good reason why my MBP might not be charging to the fullest unless I press "charge to the fullest now?" I'm wondering if it's a new feature that I can trust or if it's some sort of an issue that would I need to press "full charge" every time?
You can, with Battery.sh . The version for Intel Macs is BCLM.

Ask HN: Host a website from a living room in 2022?
Constantly keeping the battery at 100% can be an issue, but modern versions of macOS allow you to limit charging. There are also utilities that work on older OS versions (they just issue an SMC command to achieve the same thing), like this one: https://github.com/zackelia/bclm
