sure, it's going to take years to change seeing the people/corporations that don't want change. a typical human psychological dilemma, i'd say, reluctance to something you don't understand or don't like. Look at Gitcoin or Celo or city3, local economies etc... why not support a change to empower people and move away from greedy, corporate/banking systems?

For example, the creators of CELO, a mobile-based crypto token, recognized that smartphone users could be key to the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies. So they created a token that lets anyone with a mobile device send payments using addresses on their contact list.

You can work with Ethereum and bridge assets over through projects like Moonbeam and Moonriver (Kusama canary net). Moonbeam is currently working on converting ERC20 standard to XC20 standard, which would make ERC20 assets movable across parachains, too.
