Light hotspots pushed back another week
The Light Hotspots activation is the largest update to the Helium network since Validators last year and the core developers have been working hard to ensure a smooth deployment. This week the core team identified a few changes that require another update by various network participants and is moving the activation date to provide participants ample time to upgrade. No action required by Hotspot owners. To ensure blockchain components continue to work as expected we request all network participants upgrade their software to the appropriate version listed below by 2022-05-11 00:00:00 UTC. Activation of Light Hotspots will take place shortly after. Note some components will have releases later this week but we wanted to communicate this change early. We’ll continue to update this announcement as releases become available. - Validators: currently beta (https://github.com/helium/miner/releases/tag/validator1.9.1) - Blockchain Node: https://github.com/helium/blockchain-node/releases/tag/1.1.62 - Router: TBD (later this week) - Hotspot Firmware / Makers: TBD (later this week) - ETL: https://github.com/helium/blockchain-etl/releases/tag/1.1.140 Thanks for updating and we look forward to this launch!

Is there a tool (a map?) to see the data usage of the helium network
If you know (or want to learn) Erlang, Helium maintain an open source ETL project for the network: https://github.com/helium/blockchain-etl

I used to be in the Hex with 2 spots, now I’m in the one that has 8. How did it change on its own?

Number of Hotspots Data
That’s pretty data/transfer intensive, though, so depending on your use case, you may want to build your own database with an appropriate ETL. https://github.com/helium/blockchain-etl
