You can use the ns.getScriptLogs() method from the main batch runner to get the logs from another script. You can then output that to your main batch runner's log using the ns.print() or ns.printf() methods.

The "magic" of ns.asleep() lies in the fact that it allows the UI to update, which is not the case with ns.sleep(). The downside of using ns.asleep() is that it is less accurate than ns.sleep(). Both functions wait for at least the specified amount of time, but may resolve later. The more UI and other stuff is going on, the more likely ns.asleep() is to resolve later.

You can use ns.alert() to display a popup window which parses HTML, CSS, and JS.

You need to read the documentation carefully for the functions ns.GetPurchasedServerUpgradeCost and ns.upgradePurchasedServer

please don't take this as a RTFM comment. but I when I play this game, I keep the docs [https://github.com/bitburner-official/bitburner-src/blob/dev/markdown/bitburner.ns.md] open in another tab. I end up spending maybe slightly more time in game as I do the docs. That is probably 30% of the appeal of the game (at least to me - though I have been reminded in the past, I am not typical)

True, but I usually just execute that as part of my smolScript when I'm low on RAM/money.

Like everyone else has pointed out you'll need access to the singularity API to use the ns.singularity.installBackdoor() method. The method will only install a backdoor on the server you're terminal is connected to, so here's how I would connect before/without backdooring.
