Fig Is Sunsetting
Having contributed to the Fig autocomplete specs, I find this sad. The Amazon product Fig was built into basically works as replacement, which is good. Still, the core value of this product are the open-source autocomplete specs: https://github.com/withfig/autocomplete. What's going to happen to that? It looks like they are still using it in the Amazon product. It should definitely be possible for an open-source re-implementation of the Fig UI to use those specs. There is a lot of knowledge encoded in there!

Ask HN: Alternatives to fig.io as it has signups disabled?
Fig is awesome but with signups blocked[1] for 2+mo already it's also as good as dead ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

AWS CloudWatch Evidently The worst. No comment. AWS seems to perpetually lack a good DX for developers. It appears that they don't recognize or continually undervalue the importance of roles other than engineers, such as Product Managers or Designers. Very disappointing. However, AWS has recently acquired Fig, so looks like they're now pursuing an acquisition strategy instead. Let's see how it turns it out, and let's hope they don't ruin Fig, since it's such an useful tool.

Ask HN: What are some well-designed websites?
slightly tangential, but where do people get awesome landing pages like linear(https://fig.io/. has similar landing page) etc. Do they build them in-house or buy templates somewhere? Many of the recently launched YC companies have awesome landing pages. eg. https://automorphic.ai/,

Fig Has Joined AWS
I love this product, have contributed several times to it, and I'm a little torn. One thing I am thinking about now, is that the completion specs are MIT-licensed, and it should be possible to use them to re-implement a basic open-source version of the autocompletion product... https://github.com/withfig/autocomplete

Warp VS Wave Terminal - a user suggested alternative

Linux version of Warp terminal is here
I'm trying out Warp for the first time, and an immediate accessibility issue for me is that the text is simply too small to read for a lot of the UI elements (context menu, side bar, tab bar…). The size should be configurable for all of the elements, not just the terminal view. I think I would also be fine with a setting that just scales the whole UI.
I did notice there is an issue for it already: https://github.com/warpdotdev/Warp/issues/1443

How To Change Your Zoom Background With Code
Warp is a Rust-based terminal with AI built in. I like it because it has things like autocompletions, history search, click-to-edit, and theming out-of-the-box. Feels super modern. And if you do want to try it out, use my referral link & get a free theme!)

OpenAI Whisper: Transcribe in the Terminal for free
Unless you want to type this every day, I’d recommend creating an alias. In my case, I’m using Warp, so I’ll right-click the command and choose Save as Workflow to save my script as a workflow. Warp AI will even help me autofill the title and description and detect variables.

Keystroke timing obfuscation added to SSH(1)
This makes me wonder about newer terminal emulators on maccOS like Warp[1], and if they're for example taking all input locally, and then sending it over the remote host in a single blob or not? I imagine doing so would possibly break any sort of raw-mode input being done on remote host but I'd also imagine that is a detectable situation in which you could switch into a raw keystroke feed as well.

Does anyone try the new terminal emulator Warp with Neovim?
You're right, I just found the discussion there (and it's the longest one currently). For now, I just run tmux inside the emulator.
