- Hey, Linux bros. Quick question.

Tuxedo OS on Asus laptops
Similar to FlexiCharger, but some ASUS devices seem to use ITE keyboards. Never say never, but it might need forks. And honestly, it would be better to just wait, it seems like your bug is already being taken care of: https://gitlab.com/asus-linux/asusctl/-/issues/278 Since it refers to the 2022 version and you already have the latest iteration, we can only speculate, whether it is the same keyboard or not. Feel free to open another issue there and share your systeminfos with the development team. :-)

I DO NOT WANT TO INSTALL WINDOWS - BATTERY PROBLEM
You may be running with performance on all the time. If I were you I'd probably add this COPR to install asusctl and see what my CPU performance is. I'd see how it does in Balanced.

Great project! I just wanted to point out that asusctl and asusctl-gex exist which allow for even more configuration.

G14 and Linux -- that's the question
Switching Graphic: Pop!_OS's built-in system76-power works out of box, 4 modes: Dedicated Only Integrated Only Hybrid Graphic and Compute Graphic(turns off dGPU all the time unless you really want to use it). However, it requires a reboot each time. There is a better solution called asusctl, if you planning use GNOME there is a easy GUI for that: asusctl-gex. Difference: ASUSCTL only requires log out, but system76-power needs reboot.

ROG Flow X13 - Ubuntu 22 + XG mobile
At the moment, the key (at least with the ubuntu distro) is to install the development version of ubuntu 22 (which official version will be released on April 21 I think). This is because ubuntu 22 comes out of the box with kernel 5.15, a required kernel for three nice asus-linux repositories on gitlab: asusctl, asusctl-gex, supergfxctl. This gives access to nearly every needed feature for this laptop, such as GPU switching, power profiles, and some UI interfaces.

What laptop would you recommend for university programming and gaming?
There'a a package called supergfxctl which lets you switch GPU modes, and if you want a GUI version then there's a gnome extension asusctl-gex. Works just fine.

How do I install this "polkit" thing?
I need to install whatever this is so that I could install the power profiles daemon which is so that I could have access to changing my fan speed in asusctl-gex which is so that I can use my laptop with fedora normally.

Zephyrus G14 Arch Install guide
I am using the asusctl-gex extension for switching graphics from the top-bar. I have installed it from the source $ sudo pacman -S nodejs npm $ git clone [email protected]:asus-linux/asusctl-gex.git /tmp/asusctl-gex && cd /tmp/asusctl-gex $ npm install $ npm run build && npm run install-user After installation run Alt + F2 then r to reload the gnome shell. There are prebuilt packages available for this same extension.
I am using the [asusctl-gex extension](https://gitlab.com/asus-linux/asusctl-gex) for switching graphics from the top-bar.

Hello, G14 POP OS Users?
Well, currently I'm using kernel stable: 5.12.14 asusctl working. I did try mainline: 5.13 got black screen had to remove completely. If you have a problem switching between iGPU and dGPU try asusctl-gex but need to logout caused Feroda don't have refresh.

For anyone considering an ASUS G14 or G15. The 2021 models are working very well with F34 and community built kernel/services.
It's https://gitlab.com/asus-linux/asusctl-gex which uses https://gitlab.com/asus-linux/asusctl internally
What are some alternatives?
