Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

I use nvim-early-retirement so I don't have to think about when to close the buffers. Works great especially if you don't use a bufferline to begin with

The idea came to me first when I saw nvim-early-retirement, and then I created an initial implementation after reading this post by user xmsxms.

Closing unused buffers
Yeah could possibly cull files based on the lastused value, similar to https://github.com/chrisgrieser/nvim-early-retirement/blob/main/lua/early-retirement.lua
