I would like to attempt making a mod
The two main ways I know of are "Multiloader-Template style" and "using Architectury-Loom". Archloom is a big Gradle plugin that tries to do everything for you, multiloader-template is less of a software package and more of a code style. I'm not familiar with archloom but i've written a bunch of mods with the multiloader-template style.

I would like to attempt making a mod
Probably possible but I would not recommend it. Hexcasting does this, somehow, but you'll notice the mod is only about 25% Kotlin at this point

What's up with mod documentation on Discord servers?
For some mods (like Hex Casting), I've had good luck tracking down their github repository. The one for Hex Casting (https://github.com/gamma-delta/HexMod) links to its online documentation at:: https://gamma-delta.github.io/HexMod/

Why users should care about QuiltMC?
Fabric's dependency situation is broken, in some pretty bad ways. It was a good idea! If everyone used jar-in-jar resolution, it'd have solved a lot of problems. But you don't, and the economics of CurseForge make it very unlikely that it'll ever even be possible. Not every player will want Quilt's proposed library resolution auto-download, but it'll be very convenient to most players, and for everyone else it'll be better than getting a random runtime crash with zero useful details.
