Is it possible to simply compile an open source app for Android that was developed for GNU/Linux as they are both based on the Linux kernel? Does it just depend on the app's libraries and dependencies, or does an app have to be build from the ground up specifically for Android?

LXQt session is giving seg fault error instead of starting.
Never-mind found an issue at GitHub regarding this.

Completely no Nav / Status bar liked XSDL ?
https://github.com/pelya/xserver-xsdl/issues/110 i used swcursor and run xsdl with -nocursor option.
- Need to compile swcursor to make termux desktop in x server xsdl faster

Bruh! (P.S. - don't miss out the C++ one, below C)
I agree with you, I'm just trying to match it to my use case, which is X server for Android

How to use gui without vnc in termux?
However when it comes to other applications, e.g. using GTK, you have to use X11 protocol server, either directly rendering to screen (like https://github.com/pelya/xserver-xsdl) or network-based, e.g. Xvnc from tigervnc package - will require VNC viewer. There no way to output X11 graphics directly to Android OS, you will need a some middleware like mentioned XSDL or VNC viewer for that.

OpenGL is not activated when launching Xubuntu with xSDL in Termux.
Expected. xSDL can't render GL(ES); https://github.com/pelya/xserver-xsdl/issues/45 (no glshim).
