Unfortunately, I can only second this. The absolute basic functionality, meaning file storage and access through a browser, works fine. However, as soon as it comes to integration, things fall apart, and it's not even terribly complicated stuff. For instance, I used Nextcloud to automatically upload photos from my Android mobile, and this has been completely broken for over 2 months now, and nothing is happening (see https://github.com/nextcloud/android/issues/11974). It's pretty clear they simply do not have enough staff to maintain all of the clients, and I'm just rsyncing my stuff now...

However, there are some longer standing issues with uploads that seems to only impact a small subset of people. It's generally blamed on different versions of android handling background processes and permissions differently. There doesn't seem to be one single cause, or one solution, other than what's suggested in that issue.

The corresponding issue on Github has been open since 2016 and even though there are a few hundred dollars bounty exposed, nothing is moving there.

The only way I can foresee a cryptocoin actually holding value is if spending the coin meant spending processing cycles and RAM doing things like this:

But in more general sense, less like https://boinc.berkeley.edu/ and more like AWS...

It's the only way to have value, actually holding computing power in a distributed network.

By default, to run your computations on BOINC you need to create a server, but we can deal with that and run your research on our own server first, so this could help you to start faster, and then later decide if you need a separate server.
