Rather than a caching plugin have you experimented with AMP, and specifically the official AMP plugin? As long as you're not using much custom JavaScript you may notice instant improvements.

The Events Calendar Plugin and Elementor
I noticed on Github there's a whole lot of crap before the actual the_content() call: https://github.com/the-events-calendar/the-events-calendar/blob/master/src/views/single-event.php which is where your normal single post widgets would get added in the builder, and I know that any non-Elementor widget available to WP should still be available at the bottom of that left panel full of widgets, so I wonder if the list widget is there, if that would work too.
