  • Using Typescript to create a Robust API between your frontend and backend

Two of the major components of the @grouparoo/core application are a Node.js API server and a React frontend. We use Actionhero as the API server, and Next.JS for our React site generator. As we develop the Grouparoo application, we are constantly adding new API endpoints and changing existing ones.
  • Deferring Side-Effects in Node.js until the End of a Transaction
    5 projects | dev.to | 17 May 2021
At Grouparoo, we use Actionhero as our Node.js API server and Sequelize for our Object Relational Mapping (ORM) tool - making it easy to work with complex records from our database. Within our Actions and Tasks, we often want to treat the whole execution as a single database transaction - either all the modifications to the database will succeed or fail as a unit. This is really helpful when a single activity may create or modify many database rows.

    5 projects | news.ycombinator.com | 1 May 2021
Hard to say without knowing /what/ you want to accomplish in your CI process, so maybe some open source examples will help:

    * A "complex" library (node-resque). In CI (CircleCI) we install deps, compile Typescript to JS, test on 3 versions of node, and build docs. 4 min w/ some parallelization https://app.circleci.com/pipelines/github/actionhero/node-re...

    * A web server framework (actionhero): In CI(Github Actions) we install deps, compile Typescript to JS, test on 3 versions of node, and build docs. 7 min w/ some parallelization https://github.com/actionhero/actionhero/actions/runs/801273...

    * A Monorepo (Grouparoo): In CI (CircleCI) we install deps, compile Typescript to JS, run migrations, check licenses, test UIs, CLI tools, Plugins, and try out a few different databases. 5 minutes with rather extreme parallelization https://app.circleci.com/pipelines/github/grouparoo/grouparo...

  • Nuxt vs Next: Which JavaScript Framework Suits Your Next Project?
    9 projects | dev.to | 6 Dec 2023
According to Node Package Manager (NPM), Next.js has about 3.9 million weekly downloads while Nuxt.js has about 438,000. Although Next.js has a significantly higher number of weekly downloads, Nuxt.js still has a robust number of users. We can conclude that both frameworks are relevant and will stand the test of time.
  • Is Nuxt gonna change its pages dir?
    1 project | /r/Nuxt | 23 Jun 2023
Nuxt team themselves pointed that out [in first release](https://www.npmjs.com/package/nuxt/v/0.0.1) as well as you can see that statement in [Nuxt's wikipedia article](https://cdn.domin.pro/K2Qa). I completely agree with how Nuxt is better for an amount of features.

Node is basically back-end Javascript. While powerful alone, almost exclusively you will use a back-end framework like Next.js or Gatsby when using React, and then maybe Nuxt or Gridsome in Vue.
  • Comparing Vue.js and React.js key aspects

  • Hosting your app for production – an overview
    8 projects | dev.to | 3 Jan 2023
We made a LiveChat Next.js App template. Using Next.js as a foundation for the project, we have a front-end app with built-in routing, Server Side Rendering (SSR), and Server Side Generation (SSG) built with React, but on top of that, ready-to-use API routes built in the form of Serverless functions. If you prefer Vue.js or Svelte, you can choose similar frameworks, like Nuxt.js and SvelteKit.

Vue's docs are some of the best I've ever read. Nuxt and Craft are pretty great too. I especially like how Craft's docs are bifurcated into the docs which give you the 20/80 + code snippets, and the class reference, which is complete documentation of every method, type, param, etc of the platform.
