Aqara switches with Samsung SmartThings hub only?
Only certain aqara child devices will work properly on the smartThings hub. Some will not pair at all whilst others may not perform as expected so ymmv. Check out smartThings forums for more detailed posts and user feedback (this sub is mostly native installations via the aqara hub) or github repos for compatibility lists (example here)

Help reconnecting Aqara devices
I only have Aqara temperature/humidity sensor as well as the leak sensor. They were both connected using custom DTH from https://github.com/bspranger/Xiaomi. I've recently moved the over to Edge drivers. The temperature sensors didn't require anything custom. The leak sensors required custom edge drivers from https://github.com/veonua/SmartThingsEdge-Xiaomi. Not sure if this helps.

Door contact sensor shown as switch - how to change?

- Notification is door is left open? Does SmartThings sync with a device that will notify me if my door blows open or isn’t closed properly by a child? The devices on Amazon don’t get great reviews or don’t sync with SmartThings.

Aqara Vibration Sensor: vibration reset time is too long
It appears the device interface code with smartThings was posted online, and users were able to figure out from it to change sensitivity. I read through it and found the code related to this, line 143 about motionreset

Best Motion Sensor that pairs with ST?
The Aqara Motion Sensor requires a custom DH, is very difficult to pair, but has a 60 sec cool down period. It looks nice and does not feel cheap. Once you do get it paired it seems to be ok. Executes in the cloud. I also had to modify the DH to get the correct Icon to show in the ST app.

Question regarding Zigbee and Aqara
I use many Aqara devices with the SmartThings (ST) hub instead of the Aqara hub. They connect with Zigbee to the ST hub with the bspranger device handlers.
