How to protect an area on a server (not spawn)
Few different ways you could do this you could use WorldGuard and create a region that disallows interactions and then add yourself as a member. This would proably be of the most complicated solutions.

World Guard might work. You can define a region and enable flags to prevent things like block breaking, trampling, etc
