  • LanguageTool: Lacking self-hosted version and bad privacy?
    2 projects | /r/PrivacyGuides | 1 Apr 2023
When they replaced their open source browser extension with the current board source one, they didn't bother to give a justification, instead they just closed the issue that asked about it without response. Maybe there were more, but not sure about it.
  • 100% Open source alternative for Grammarly
    3 projects | /r/opensource | 9 Sep 2022
That's not 100% open source. They deprecated their open source browser extension, and made a new one that is closed source. What is even worse: they block and ignore issues asking about why did that happen, and why isn't the new extension open source. This is what actually landed them on my blacklist, that they're unable to communicate honestly, all the while their extensions require a remote, proprietary server for proper functionality.
  • Any Grammarly open source alternative??
    3 projects | /r/fossdroid | 15 Apr 2022
The actual server is. However, the WebExtension has not been since April 23, 2021.
  • Grammarly is a key-logger

You mean the languagetool that claims opensourve but then deliberately fails to release the source for their new extension?
