Running the game on Linux
So I have the game on steam, and I've played it through the latest Proton (6.3-7). I went through a couple forums to seek solutions and I managed to get the game "working". -I've read some tips on protondb (I've installed dotnet and stuff trough winetricks, cause protontricks didn't work): https://www.protondb.com/app/244850 -I've tried the jar file from the LinuxPatches github site (and I've tried to make the changes manually): https://github.com/Linux74656/SpaceEngineersLinuxPatches

Space Engineers .NET out of date when running through Proton
I've tried almost every solution I can find on google (forcing certain .NET versions through protontricks/winetricks, running the SpaceEngineersLinuxPatches tool, forcing different versions of proton) but I can't get it working. I just get the same .NET is out of date error.

It's different this time is it now?
He's probably talking about games that are not officially supported by Proton yet. Those gave me mixed results. Some games just work without a hitch. Some need minor bits and bops (a few launch options here, using GE proton there) and some require the sacrifice of a mechanical goat before they work (I'm looking at you, Space Engineers!)

Space Engineers .Net issue
Downgrade your proton to an earlier version like 4. something, install the dotnet you need, then upgrade to the latest proton. It is a known issue with installing dotnet on newer proton versions. Check out protondb.com, if you have any problems running a game through proton, that site will most likely have the solution in the test results. One of the comments led me to this page which had the solution to your issue at the bottom of the page https://github.com/Linux74656/SpaceEngineersLinuxPatches

Arch has made me a disciple for life
You can play Space Engineers on linux. There is a patch which makes it work (for me it did). I do not play COD but you can search for it on protondb to see if people got it working.

Gaming On Linux - My Experience Over The Last Year (2020)
Space Engineers is playable(or was as of a few weeks ago), after applying https://github.com/Linux74656/SpaceEngineersLinuxPatches. It has been playable for a while now and was one of the games I missed too.

Nintendo issues DMCA takedown for Switch homebrew projects
I think it depends on your computer's bluetooth hardware.
Mine reports itself as a Cambridge Silicon Radio USB device 0A12:0001, and works great with recent Sony controllers, while people with some other dongles have reported lag and/or unstable connections.
This list is a bit old, but perhaps a good place to start:

If you go into the ds4drv settings, does any device show up? Did you try following the instructions under the "Using" section on GitHub? https://github.com/chrippa/ds4drv

DS4Windows equivalent?
I found ds4drv after perusing ArchWiki for a while. It seems to support emulating an xbox 360 controller.
