They're apparently going hard this time, no known way to play anything anymore.

Show HN: An open source extension to block large media brands from Google search
The Brave browser and/or SmartTube seem to work for me. Now we just need a smooth way to transition from when clicking on a youtube link - to have an option to open one of those two (for desktop and mobile). Does anyone have any better options?

Includes crowdsourced sponsor block as well. The day YouTube goes the Twitch route and starts embedding ads is the day I stop using it. Literally unwatchable at this point without adblocking.

[Streaming] NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV, $129.99 ($149.99 - $20)
Android TV is pretty great. smartyoutubetv works like a charm. The controller feels great in the hand and is easy to setup. Dolby vision is awesome, and I'm fairly certain the shield is the only media player capable of it.
