Vanced alternative for an ancient phone with JB Android 4.2.2?
I haven't tried SkyTube but looking at their GitHub it seems the video player it relies on is the cause of the issue and is also needing minimum 5.0: https://github.com/SkyTubeTeam/SkyTube/issues/1062

Can anyone fix the old youtube app?
Legacy requires Android 4.0 minimum, it was branched out to Legacy due to crashes and development burden getting the main one to work properly. You can find it here.

Missing device(s) to "Cast to"
Interesting. I can recommend Skytube extra for casting without ads. Smarttubenext seems to be another good option if you have the newest chromecast with google tv or an android tv box (which I don't)

YouTube premium equivalent ?
Try Bat. It has the Youtube premium features without all the extra stuff in uYou+ and is overall more seamless to the original Youtube app. Do as you prefer.

Do you guys block YouTube ads? If not, would you start blocking ads if this happened to you?
For iOS there's a few, like uYou+, or yattee for NewPipe users. I personally like more BAT-for-YouTube since it's a cleaner experience, but isn't as feature rich.

Is it safe to sign in on uYou with my main Account?
Yes, just make sure you're using the official one. If you don't trust the .ipa you used you could use Bat. It's more of a toned down mod, basically a layer over basic Youtube but gives you premium features + some small extras. It only shows it's presence when you open settings and overall looks like stock Youtube.
