Can I use any Mikrotik SFP device as a FTTH modem?
Find a ONT SFP unit that will work with your ISP. (Fs.com has a few options, this is another source https://github.com/Anime4000/RTL960x)
- RB5009 poor 2.5G Ethernet performance.

How do I know which configurations/files belongs to my ISP provider in an ONT modem and router which runs OpenWRT?
You'll have to figure out the ONT credentials (serial no., password etc.). Should not be too difficult. The device may have a web-ui or equivalent cli commands. Once you get them, you can ditch the device and buy standalone hardware which can run openwrt. A good option is ubiquiti er-x sfp. You can install an ONT sfp modem in it and put it in bridge mode. Openwrt will handle the rest. You may have to whitelist the MAC with the ISP or spoof it. This repo has useful information on the ONT SFP modules that you can buy: https://github.com/Anime4000/RTL960x

SC/UPC SFP
I would suggest asking your isp if they can provide support. Or diy yourself with https://github.com/Anime4000/RTL960x

Single Core Fibre to UDMP Connection

SFP module won't sync to 2.5g
Alternatively, if you want the cheapest option possible, then that would be to just purchase the media converter listed in https://github.com/Anime4000/RTL960x/blob/main/Docs/2.5Gb.md. YMMV with that though, lol. Particularly given the major hardware revision to that product... not clear which hardware version was validated.

Has anyone been able to get 5Gbps Google fiber on pfsense?
I am looking to upgrade from 2Gbps to 5Gbps Google fiber. I was able to follow THIS guide to get it to work. So, I'm curious if there is another for 5Gbps.

WAN not getting DHCP IP
Background: I have 2.0 GbE Google Fiber and had tons of problems with their modem/router, so I followed this guide and built a PFSense box that has been working flawlessly for over a year.

Simplex SFP for netgate 4100
While trying to find more info about what you're describing, I came across your Github page detailing your efforts to bypass your RG (nice write-up by the way!) and yes, what you removed from the Technicolor RG that Google gave you and plugged into your Broadcom NIC is absolutely an ONT transceiver. Don't take my word for it though - even the DSLR page you linked to describes these modules as GPON SFP ONTs. If you want further confirmation, pop the transceiver out of your NIC and look up the part number on the label. I'm guessing it's probably a Nokia / Alcatel Lucent unit.

Is it possible to use my own ONT (Optical Network Terminal), rather than the Router+ONT combined device they provided?

2 gig router bypass with no modem?
Am I understanding you correctly that as of now if you go with the 2Gb plan google will provide a fiber jack that negotiates with standard 10Gb network devices and I don't need to get a 2.5Gb nic anymore? Meaning instructions like this no longer apply? https://github.com/Berzerker/google-fiber-2gbps-bypass

Recently upgraded to 2gig Fiber, regret it and need some networking help (L2+ swith + router)
I just built a pfsense box that can manage the 2gig gpon link. It’s really great. https://github.com/Berzerker/google-fiber-2gbps-bypass
