THX Audio in Stellaris 15 Gen 3 AMD laptop
You can try something with PulseEffects but I couldn't find a very good combination. There is a git repository from Tuxedo: https://github.com/tuxedocomputers/pulseeffects-presets . In addition, you can enable "Convolver" and import one of these IRS (Impulse Response) files: https://github.com/eedeidk/PulseAudio-IRSs/tree/master/IRS . Share your results if you find a good one.

If any of the impulse files improve the sound you can keep them enabled (I personally use the music-balanced file), otherwise you can try other impulse files such as this massive list of IRs files.

Looking for comfortable headphones with decent bass for under $250.
All models have been - according to me - lacking in bass. SRH840A less so than the others. The lack of bass has not been much of a problem because I can increase i via software and at that point the MDR-1A sound the best to me. Here is the impulse response file I use. Should provide an idea of hwhat kind of sound I like.

Looking to replace a pair of MDR-1A with something in a similar budget.
Preferred tonal balance - I like bass and to some extent clear vocals. I find most headphones lacking in bass and often end up using this preset with a convolver which adds a decent amount of bass.
