  • Moving saves from GB Operator to EverDrive GBA Mini (GBC Save Files)
    1 project | /r/everdrive | 30 Jun 2023
The easiest variant of the Goomba Save Manager to use for most people is the GUI variant called GoombasavCore.WinForms.x64.exe. You can find it on Github here. Windows may require a .NET component installed if you haven't got it (you'll get a prompt), but once that's done you should be able to load it to this screen (minus the game info). Now the next step is to make a Goomba Save File. Presuming you have Goomba Color / Jagoomba Color (my preference) installed correctly on the GBA Mini, load up a copy of the game you wish to swap saves with. So in this case Pokemon Yellow. Play the game to a point you can save (so your room in this case) and then make the save as per normal. Now this is the important steps for some of these games like Pokemon, after you get the successful saved prompt, hit L+R on the GBA and you'll get up the Goomba menu. Navigate to Exit/Restart and the game will reset. After this, you will need to restart your GBA and then open a different Gameboy/Color title. This just helps flush out the memory in Goomba and Everdrive as I've found not doing so gives mixed success to the transfer working. After this it's time to put your SD card into the computer. With the Goomba Save Manager open, navigate to the Goomba save which will be located in the GBASYS/emusave/ folder on your SD card. It should be titled as the game's rom name srm. Opening/dragging this .srm file into Goomba Save Manager should present you with the game info on the left like in this image. From here you select the SRAM item, and click Replace. You'll then be prompted for the save you wish to replace it with. In this case wherever your dumped .sav file is from GB Operator. Once you find it and click open, you'll be back on the Goomba Save Manager Screen. From here go to File and click Save. That's it, you should be able to insert the SD back into the GBA mini and boot up the game with the new transferred save. It's also worth noting you'll need to do the L+R step every time with Pokemon on Goomba if you wish for the save files to stick, otherwise you'll lose any progress up to that point.
  • Make GBC Games full Screen on Everdrive x5 Mini?

Now the next step is to make a Goomba Save File. Presuming you have Goomba Color / Jagoomba Color (my preference) installed correctly on the GBA Mini, load up a copy of the game you wish to swap saves with. For example lets go with Pokemon Red. Play the game to a point you can save (so your room in this case) and then make the save as per normal.

  • which everdrive is recommended to buy for pokemon crystal and emerald and to manage their saves?
    1 project | /r/everdrive | 13 Apr 2023
The only Everdrive that could do both is the GBA Mini. Emerald can be played natively with it, Crystal can run via the Jagoomba Color emulator.
  • How do you get the GBA everdrive mini to play GB and GBC games?
    2 projects | /r/everdrive | 16 Mar 2023
Download the Jagoomba Color emulator from here (jagoomba_v05.gba).
  • Everdrive GBA Compatibility List?
    3 projects | /r/everdrive | 13 Mar 2023
Anyway, changing the GBC emulator to Jagoomba Color is as simple as downloading the .gba file here, renaming it to gbc (so it becomes gbc.gba) and replace it over the top of the current gbc.gba you have in the GBASYS/Emu folder.

  • Everdrive GBA mini emulation mode: is it any good?
    1 project | /r/everdrive | 20 Jan 2023
But yeah, the emulation on the GBA Mini for GB/GBC stuff still has a ways to go. There's not much of an active compatibility list outside this GBATemp one, but from what I gather most games will run to some degree. The project itself also seems fairly slow going. The latest emulator to take up the mantle Jagoomba Color hasn't updated in 6 months now.
