Program for playback synchronization from Plex to Emby and vice versa (by AAndyProgram)

This Powershell script will recursively search through a user-defined file path and convert all videos of user-specified file types to MP4 with H264 video and AAC audio using ffmpeg. The purpose of this script is to reduce transcoding CPU load on a media server like Plex or Emby and increase video compatibility across platforms. (by BrianDMG)

Not a direct answer to your question, but I wrote a similar script a while back that does exactly what you're describing. Maybe you can use it for comparison/inspiration. https://github.com/BrianDMG/conv2mp4-ps/blob/master/files/init/buildqueue.ps1 is where the file queue is established.
