Is it possible to serve different files depending on if the browser is a phone or desktop browser?
It's called "User Agent Sniffing" because you're going to look at the User Agent header in the HTTP request to figure out what browser has requested the site. There are libraries for it like this one: https://github.com/WhichBrowser/Parser-PHP
