my thoughts about the mod
Lag/Crash/Issues: Q: Why do big villages/certain dungeons lower my frame rate? A: Most likely it is because of the large amount of villagers. A temporary fix would be to lower entity render distance to 16 while you're in those areas. Then turn it back up to 64 or above after you leave. Q: Why does the pack crash with MacOS? A: Check out this doc. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1iZ1TjJCDNyUZlEMn6S7JM_d9xQcNk2OktmxUOGdi6do/edit?usp=sharing Q: Why does it crash/freeze? A: DawnCraft is a fairly large modpack, it will take time to load. Give it the time it needs. If it crashes/freezes continuously, make sure of a few things: 1) You have Java 18 (Recommended) or 17 installed, not Java 8/19/xx https://adoptium.net/temurin/releases/?version=18 *Note: You may have to remove other java versions if your launcher/server doesn't recognize java 18/17. 2) You have allocated 7-12 GB Ram to DawnCraft. Too much or too little can cause issues 3) Your system has enough Ram to run background functions 4) You have tried restarting the server 4) World is pre-generated: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/chunky-pregenerator-forge Also try Aikar's Flag for server arguments: https://github.com/etil2jz/etil-minecraft-flags if your TPS is consistently low, please use /spark profiler, let it run for 2-3 minutes, then do /spark profiler --stop. Lastly upload the spark report link to dc-support
