Based on this compatibility discussion, it sounds like this isn't as straightforward an issue as I'd hoped:

Teensy 4.1 loop speed
No need to use millis, it skips interrupts so is not 100% accurate. You can count actual Processor cycles with the ARM cycle counter. https://github.com/TeensyUser/doc/wiki/Using-the-cycle-counter
