I made some glitchy kaleidoscope visuals
I used 3 different programs. Generated an image in glitchlab (android app) and the animated it using the multi-distort effect. Then used the video sorting feature in madpixelsort to add a second layer of animation essentially. Then I finished the video in videoleap (android app) where I added the kaleidoscope effect, the chromatic effect on the top and bottom, and then did color correcting!

Databending + pixelsorting
I use audacity for databending, I'm a fan of the echo and Bass/Treble effects. I use madpixelsort for pixelsorting! Recently I've been using multiple glitched/sorted versions of an image and layering them on top of each other and messing around with the blend modes.

The Maze
If you eventually want a paid option then Mad Pixel Sort is by far (IMO) the best for features, polish, and flexibility.

Galaxy Bloom
No - but I do have plans to make pixel sorting styled art in 3D. This is done with the https://www.madpixelsort.com/ and adjusting other settings and such in Affinity Photo.

the deep
All of my work is made with madpixelsort

How to get started with pixel sorting?
On the Mac, I use this python module: https://github.com/satyarth/pixelsort but there is also these: https://github.com/wolfembers/Pixelsorting https://github.com/madlitch/MadPixelSort-Legacy

The Maze
I made a GUI based application calling Pixel Sortium for pixel sorting for Windows which is free (but pretty limited in features) if you want to try it.

Pixel Sortium v0.1 is now available for download (for free)
And finally, I have found that I am much better at programming compared to visual art (despite my best efforts). So I am hoping to receive feedback from the more artistic minded people here for what features and enhancements would be best to improve the usability and workflow of this application. Feedback would best be received as an issue in the Issues section of Github
I used the default image included in Pixel Sortium with Jake The Dog that says "Sucking at something is the first step to being sorta good at something". There's still a couple optimizations I can do on how the sorting algorithm is implemented. So if you are using multithreading then I'm sure MPS can do it just as fast or faster.
