So I have installed some mods for Duke Nukem 3D again
Nice. I uploaded the files for Liquidator 3D if you want to try it out, there's a package for whatever version of duke you prefer. The original project is here, but I cleaned it up for my mod manager project.

It should be possible. Apparently it also could be an issue if you don't unzip the roms. But it also could be you simply don;t have any bios files in the bios folder. Get them here and try again.

Do you have the bios files? If not you can get them (here)[https://github.com/Abdess/retroarch_system/tree/batocera] or Google for them.
