Jumping right in is a very difficult way to learn in this program. I would highly suggest reading this https://github.com/alan412/LearnJavaForFTC/blob/master/LearnJavaForFTC.pdf to get an overview of the basics you will need. It's not very long and is most of the knowledge you will need for this competition.

Is it possible to upload code from Android Studio faster?
Also, for those of you like me who prefer to code in Android Studio because of it's nice IDE features, you can do your editing in Android Studio and then use ftc_http to push to the robot and rebuild. https://github.com/TheLostLambda/ftc_http

We use android studio to edit the code, then use ftc_http to push it to the robot and build. It gives us all the benefits of the ide and can push changes super fast.
