Unpopular opinion?
I made a keyboard myself which has such a "thumb key" (KLOR) and at least for me it's still pretty comfortable to use, by tucking the thumb in a bit. The alternative would be to remove it, but I don't see why?

Corne, but with a wider thumb cluster and stronger column stagger?
There are a few things that are close: * The Cantor/Piantor: more aggressive stagger and slightly changed thumb cluster. * The Swept Corne: essentially a big sweep. * The Hillside 46/48: This comes in many forms which are very similar to what you are looking for. Essentially an extra aggressive stagger (and perhaps splayed) Corne with a bigger thumb cluster.

How do I go about acquiring a pre-built Swept Corne?
I believe the swept corne was originally for sale on Etsy by a guy named Mariano. His store is currently closed for the foreseeable future, but you may be able to send this GitHub: https://github.com/AYM1607/swept-crkbd to a custom keyboard maker working on similar stuff (like the Ferris Sweep) and see if it is something they’d be willing to take on.
