I have written a fun and free tool for language learning called Lute. Lute is self-hosted: you install it on your machine, start a web server, and run it and use it. It has a growing user base and fledgling community.

Read a lot. Give Lute (which I wrote, and is free) a shot, or LingQ (which you pay for, but many people like it and it's a low-effort way to get started).

What language learning tools do you feel are still missing?
Lute has parent terms, which I use a lot for Spanish. I enter "habló" and then can map it to a parent term, "hablar".
