F-Droid: Android FOSS app store
And I just discovered another one today: Harmonic.
https://github.com/SimonHalvdansson/Harmonic-HN
I'm still searching for "just right". And while I know that posting comments is an experimental feature in Glider, I was pretty miffed today when I lost a somewhat lengthy reply that I had spent the previous thirty minutes drafting.
Nevertheless, I know better than to blame anyone but myself for the loss. I should have been copying my progress to a safer location the entire time, and the source is right there, waiting for my patch. As always, the joys of free software abound.

Better ways to read Hacker News
On mobile I use Harmonic for Hackernews it is the best one I've used. I tried many others but Harmonic is the only one I'm still using. The only reason that made me want to use another App, was that it wasn't open source, but it got open sourced some time ago.

Why aren't official Firefox apps on F-Droid?
Fennec is different in other sites with different icons , https://www.apkmirror.com/?post_type=app_release&searchtype=apk&s=fennec , https://github.com/kitsunyan/foxy-droid. I do agree Mozilla is par slow in android browser development.
- Wire is now on F-Droid

I'm mooving to FOSS... any sugestions??
FOSS Store (fork of Foxy Droid) for checking updates.

Why does the search results on fdroid website is so different from the search results on the android app? Also, why does the search results on the android app are not the great?
I always feel a need to recommend the Foxy Droid client on posts complaining about the official client.

Redmi Note 8 (Global) very slow after latest update and can't install 3rd party APKs
Also, when I was F-Droid or Foxy Droid to install APKs it doesn't open them up in package installer, I usually install and update APKs via Foxy Droid https://github.com/kitsunyan/foxy-droid

Alternative front-end?
Yes, the app hasn't been updated in almost a year, but it works perfectly fine. Regarding the project, the dev hasn't abandoned it & you can check his response here.

The problem with the F-Droid client(s)
Foxy Droid might not have received updates in almost a year but that doesn't mean it's abandoned.
