Making Steel with Electricity
Okay so for the first time since GT5u it looks like real development is being made in the form of GTCEu. I played through the community modpack (sibling repo) pre-steam age yesterday and I gotta say they have really nailed the quest book and balance. I recommend it for anyone interested.

Oof specially after getting incompatibility with other mods.
there's a similar(not a fork) mod to sodium/rubidium named nothirium for 1.12 (its not compatible with GTCEu yet)

I ported Omnifactory (Nomifactory) to GregTech CEu
GregTech CE Unofficial (GTCEu) is a GTCE fork aiming to fix the shortcomings of GTCE on 1.12.2. This new version contains a more complete progression up to UV (compared to CE, which only reached EV and relied on addons to fill in the rest), as well as far better performance. It also fixes many, many CE bugs, and adds some nice stuff like emissive textures, new multiblocks, and a material tree. Overall, it's a more robust GregTech experience on 1.12.2, coming much closer to what GT5u achieved.

After a long while, I finally have beaten Omnifactory.
Main reason is because Nomifactory has a ton of QoL updates that are hugely beneficial, and Nomifactory GTCEu is for those who want to test out the Nomifactory experience but with the inclusion of GregTech Community Edition Unofficial

GregTech: CE Unofficial for Minecraft 1.12.2 is out now
And an overambitious tech-based (no magic) modpack in development that will push GTCEU to its limits (and Gregicality, NuclearCraft Overhaul, and QD, with particle physics and everything...) will be SuperSymmetry.
