how to downgrade back to v89?
Firefox 89 isn't supported anymore. Using it would be a security risk. You can still make the current version look the same as before, though. Restore "compact mode" and give this CSS theme a try. If you need help with it, visit /r/FirefoxCSS.
-
photon based fork
The change between Photon and the current UI was just cosmetic, and you can restore it with userChrome.css.

FireFox is Still Beautiful without Custom CSS
I was determined enough to design it to my liking, so I searched around found Firefox-Proton-Square (see others here) and set browser.uidensity in about:config to 1. Everything is sharp, compact and clean. Firefox doesn't make it convenient, but things can be done.

Centering Toolbar Icons?
Hey there, currently looking or a way to fix the way that the icons work in the theme that I'm using. For some reason, they are offset by a few pixels, as visible in the attached picture. The userChrome.css that I'm using can be found under https://github.com/leadweedy/Firefox-Proton-Square. I don't really know much about Firefox customization, I've just switched to the browser today myself, so sorry if I'm being stupid.

v92 tab formatting

userChrome.css & userContent.css as a webextension proof of concept
If somehow this could be integrated with the css store down the line, I can see a lot more casual Firefox users finally trying out css customisations.
