I get the SAME damn recommendations all the time
I use FTVLaunchX and ATV Launcher Pro on my Android TV device. Just install those two apps and enable the accessibility service for LaunchX.

Nvidia shield vs amazon fire tv stick
Agreed, I have a few Fire Sticks and I've had to disable autoupdates on them because Amazon proactively targets apps that customize functionality, eg. https://github.com/codefaktor/FTVLaunchX/issues/4
