Yaesu FT-991A Newbie
991A owner here. First of all; 1. No IPO or ATT control in 144/430 MHz. Both frequencies has an built-in LNA. 2. RF GAIN does not work in FM (matter of fact, the RF GAIN is a control for SSB and CW 3. My perception is that the 991A performance in 2/70 is by far superior; you might want to double check your antenna. 4. The equipment is a powerhouse crammed in a small enclosure - and I found the manual less than helpful. I’ve put up some instructions explaining what’s each of the 991a menu system - see https://github.com/rfrht/FT991A-PAT/wiki/appendix-ft-991-a-menu-settings 5.
