Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Make Eve Make A Noise When You Are Target Locked?
Also, since setting up your entire overview from scratch leads to madness, you can import an Overview Pack which will set up your overview for you in a certain way. Although I personally have chosen the route of madness, so I can't offer any first-hand experience on a recent overview pack. But from what I can see, the Z-S pack does look promising.
