Bambu Lab A1 Mini
The probably current best solution are "dueling toolheads" or IDEX where you basically have two gantries [1] or toolchangers [2,3].
Both trade-off less waste for substantially added cost and complexity.

Multi-Material Auto Switcher for Voron?
We also have the Dueling Zero (https://github.com/zruncho3d/DuelingZero/) which is a mod to add a second Toolhead to the V0.

What do you want in a future BambuLab printer?
There is the possibility of a dual gantry, like the Dueling Zero Voron v0 mod. https://github.com/zruncho3d/DuelingZero/

Multi-Material Auto Switcher for Voron?
Tridex is a duel Toolhead mod for the Trident (https://github.com/FrankenVoron/Tridex/tree/main/Documentation). Stock BOM is for a 250 bed, but others have made a 300 bed and it's ran fine. Someone is also currently working on a 350 bed with 9mm belts instead of 6mm.

Voron TRIDEX (based on Trident 300) Serial Request Discord: tj#3986
The build is following the TRIDEX design from 'eddietheengineer': https://github.com/FrankenVoron/Tridex, it implements the 'hybrid_corexy' kinematics (supported by klipper), with two separate steppers for the Y axis and two steppers for the X axis of the two extruders. I modded the frame size to fit a 300x300 build plate (the frame is still to small to use the bed fully in IDEX mode). At the moment I'm experimenting with TAP for homing and bed probing....

This project is pretty mature at this point, but again you would be going away from an easy to use kit into "rolling your own" : https://github.com/FrankenVoron/Tridex

z offset for each hotend, dual hotends
Are you using T0 and T1 macros? how does that work? Personally I have an IDEX printer and use THESE macros for everything, they have built in Z offset too, I bet you can use this as inspiration to make your own: https://github.com/FrankenVoron/Tridex/blob/main/Firmware/IDEX_mode.cfg

Voron Tridex
Someone sent me a link to a GitHub page to a Voron trident with IDEX capabilities. It says that it has a 250mm x 250mm build plate, but that would be a little too small for what I'd need it to do. My question is, can you add a bigger build plate onto it? Btw, here is the GitHub page: https://github.com/FrankenVoron/Tridex Thanks!
