Discord Audio Stream Bot (https://github.com/BinkanSalaryman/Discord-Audio-Stream-Bot) is my secret sauce. You install it on your PC so there's no chance of it being taken down and as it uses a virtual audio cable, you can have it broadcast audio from any app you want it to.

Hey so I've recently tried out a few locally hosted bots like https://github.com/BinkanSalaryman/Discord-Audio-Stream-Bot to stream music directly from my desktop to my discord server. It works just as expected but... the audio quality seems to drop fairly consistently compared to other bots like Rhythm, Fredboat, or Octave.

I found this software that hosts a BOT on your computer that plays the sound from the selected microphone input, but it's pretty buggy (I have top-tier hardware and the program still bugs and lags).

I actually use a really simple Discord Audio Stream bot - so it's a bit of an interesting one, you have to set it up yourself and verify it as "your bot" with Discord, but once you do that you can run a program on your computer and stream audio from your computer right to the bot. It would let you route your sound effects and music, for example, through the virtual mixer and output right to it. It more or less just acts as a second Discord account for you to put in voice chat and play audio through. It can be a bit of a hassle to set up but it's worked like a charm for me ever since.

Since many of us still do a lot of our dm'ing online, i thought I'd share how I stream music from Spotify, VLC, or any other website and app: I set up a simple Discord bot using this code I found on Github . Im not a tech savvy guy by any means, but by following the instructions on that page i had it set up in about 10 minutes.

My discord username is crayyy_zee and I've been a discord user since 2019. I used to make discord servers for discord nitro in like 2020 until one day I got too tired of having to do everything manually and decided to make a bot that would ease the process. Learnt python in a week and got to development right after. Since then I've made countless standalone bots and addons for the Red-DiscordBot project. Some of these are open source on my GitHub. I do both per-hour and effort based projects. I am also one of the owners of Melon which is currently in 950 guilds and growing. What about red?

Red is probably the only real long-term option. If you rely on a public bot, that public bot will eventually get kicked off YouTube. Self-hosting a bot means you're simply going to be too obscure for YouTube to care, and if they eventually go after self-hosted bots then at that point that's going to be a news item that's going to cause a lot of anger and pretty much nothing else at all will be working with youtube anymore.

I've been using Red Bot for music, and a few other things, but you have enough functionality to create many complex rules.
