CustomBangSearch VS rikaichamp

yeah, takes only minutes to setup a custom search engine (or bangs) for any website with browser extensions. I recommend having default search terms like '1080' or whatever else automatically appended for convenience. qbitorrent with 'download in sequential order' and you'll be enjoying anything in any medium at any time in less than 30 seconds. Make sure to only p2p share public domain files I don't condone piracy ;)

Yeah usually not great quality, but it seems like certain search results on Google are worse than in the past too now since they've changed their algorithm. Can usually get away without using the bang. Honestly the alleged privacy and bangs are keeping me around, but with the custom bang extension those reasons are less appealing..

I'd use duckduckgo instead, better privacy and uses bing under the hood iirc. Plus you get bangs like !g for google search. Also if you want custom search queries I recommend this extension that works with most search engines

As an aside, I'd recommend installing 10ten reader in your browser. It's an excellent tool.

10Ten Japanese Reader

It turns out that there's a lot more tools nowadays to help out the process which makes reading and interpreting Japanese a lot easier. Like, I'm really impressed with Immersion Kit which allows you to look up Japanese phrases and see how they've been translated in various anime which helps out a lot for my amateur translation work. Things like kanji lookups are a lot easier with handwriting recognition compared to the days where I'd have to search by radical. Browser plugins like 10ten make reading Japanese websites with a dictionary much more convenient.

I really love qutebrowser, but what initially kept me from using it as my main browser was the lack of a Japanese pop-up dictionary userscript in the vein of yomichan, 10ten or rikaikun. That's why I wrote my own one, called yomichad. If you are interested, you can find more information in the repository. I hope it will be of help to others as well!

Analogous to Rikaichamp (https://github.com/birtles/rikaichamp) (Japanese dictionary definitions and pronunciation upon hovering) but for Greek. I've found it really helpful for Japanese learning, but can't find anything similar for learning Greek.
