No problem, it’s hard to keep abreast of all the platform changes and that event was only introduced a few releases ago. I wouldn’t say that there are commonly used frameworks/apps, in the same way that you’re talking about, but Salesforce is getting better at giving people ways to distribute and reuse code - look into Second Generation Unmanaged Packages. A great example of this (which is widely used in the community, and internally within Salesforce as well) is Nebula Logger: https://github.com/jongpie/NebulaLogger
