The app I'm referring to is App Manager by MuntashirAkon, it's available on GitHub.

Can I somehow add these trackers to a blocking list in AG?

Most likely, check through App Manager permissions READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE and WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, there have been two cases on A13 where they were revoked. Also your game extracted into Internal Storage?

Tangential: the article notes that Telegram is an “encrypted messaging app”. Trillian mod here. There's this new thing called Beeper, works on matrix.org. It's not as the good old times, but I'm currently using whatsapp, FB messenger, discord, telegram, signal, imessage and a few more. It's not Cerulean experience, but it's... slowly improving.
