On Android I switched to AntennaPod. It's FOSS, works great, and I can plug in my Patreon RSS feeds.

Now that Reddit are killing 3rd party apps on July 1st what are great alternatives to Reddit?
Iโd recommended AntennaPod as well, if youโre on Android. Itโs open source, zero in-app ads (the ones in the actual podcast are still present), and has I think all the features you just listed.

The open-source podcast client Antennapod has finally reached 3.0(.2) with a new home screen, Material Design 3, Smart Shuffle and a new icon/branding
I tried this for a while, and really wanted to use the open source podcast app, but ultimately the inability to follow serial podcasts from the beginning with the auto-download feature was a deal breaker for me. Looks like there's still been no progress on that.

Pocket Casts just added global episode search and is now effectively perfect
I did, the issue was auto-closed after 30 days of inactivity. I'm not the only one, quick search through their issue tracker shows another person with the same issue

Lemmy is like Reddit and here because it has threaded comment discussions.
It's also federated, so you can pick a server you like and have discussions with users from various servers together.

Some Reddit apps switched to supporting Lemmy instead when they were kicked off the API.

Nerdfighters Lemmy community?
There was some talk back in June of migrating or setting up a parallel community on Lemmy. Did anything ever come of that? If not, would anyone be interested in helping set one up?

The entire page is based on Lemmy (https://join-lemmy.org/).
I disabled a ton of features and interface parts, as IMO the original lemmy interface is super noisy.
Runs on bare-metal with docker-compose. For the facelift, just good old CSS :)
