AndrOBD is a free & open-source Android app for OBD2 diagnostics, that works with any ELM327 compatible adapter. It also supports plugins and it's my favourite OBD2 app because it's the only good one being FOSS.
From reading issues (i'm not a dev), I believe that Gauges were implemented in Kotlin (Issue 112)

Would it be possible to make an open source car operating system?
For Obd2 diagnostics i use and recommend the only free & open source android app AndrOBD. it supports my ObdLink MX (since it's elm compatible) and displays information like Obdlink proprietary app would and has some extra functionality. It just needs a more modern UI imo... and the dev. said any help is welcome. also anyone can make new plugins etc.

Looking for an open source project to help with design
AndrOBD is a very good car diagnostic app and the only open source one i could find, but it really needs a UI overhaul... There's an issue mentioned in the readme in a special request: https://github.com/fr3ts0n/AndrOBD

Good Light KDE Plasma Theme?
not really a theme but I recently enjoy lightly

two things missing in KDE? "real" vertical panel, title bar only around the corner
The ones I know of are: Aurorae (built-in one), Kvantum (https://github.com/tsujan/Kvantum/tree/master/Kvantum) and Lightly (just a theme https://github.com/Luwx/Lightly). store.kde.org is down (at least I can't access it at the moment), so I've shared github links.

Alternative to Lightly
It appears as if lightly has not been updated in quite some time, with lingering PRs.

Updated Edna Light
The plasma theme has a slight transparency. In windows and applications it depends on the style of applications you use, the kvantum theme has transparency, the color-schemes for the breeze style do not have transparency. In the screenshot I am using Lightly and I added transparency to the color-schemes.
