AMDFriend VS OSX-PROXMOX

Has anyone had a problem running Topaz Gigapixel on AMD chips? Mine won't load, wondered if there was a fix, much like Amdfriend does for Adobe apps. Thanks

First thing i needed to patch (as a photographer) was the ability to use Adobe Software on Ryzentosh. That was done using AMDFriend script to patch the libraries so the apps think its an Intel processor as there is no real Mac out there using an AMD cpu. https://github.com/NyaomiDEV/AMDFriend

Issues with Adobe have been solved thanks to the great AMDFriend script. Even the notoriously crashy neural filters work flawlessly now. I understand that some audio plugins like Waves are a mixed bag. If audio production is your planned use, I would stick to an Intel based system.

I run macOS/OSX Sonoma in Proxmox. It does pcie/gpu passthrough (AMD rx580 8gb). The proxmox host is running a AMD Ryzen 7 5700G cpu and has 64gb memory. The mac vm disks are on a zfs fs on a wd black nvme ssd.

It's the fastest mac I've ever owned and it's virtual, executed on a machine running a chip that apple never supported, and you'd never be able to tell it was a vm unless you were told so. kvm and vfio are amazing pieces of software.

Proxmox is very easy with OSX-PROXMOX. If you are more advanced and understand linux, just go with any distro you are comfortable with but Arch/Fedora worked the best for me in the past and use OSX-KVM. Then there is Unraid for which there exists pretty simple Hackinabox scripts to get it working and very simply so but Unraid is a paid OS.
