Doing ecc in contracts
Just for my own sake I made a little vrf in javascript yesterday and was thinking about making a contract that could validate the proofs. I knew if I was going to do it I would need to either code or use a library for doing the modular arithmetic and group operations. I was looking at some libraries out there and it doesn't look like there is much out there besides https://github.com/witnet/elliptic-curve-solidity and the stuff it mentions it derived from in the readme. Obviously you can use the regular discrete log problem instead of the ecc discrete log to the same end, but that (from my limited intuition) would seem to make things even more unfriendly for use in contracts since ecc at needed security levels is not the worst to implement having native 256 bit ints.
