Thinking out loud about 2nd-gen email
Much of this has been thought about and done already.
- Multipart MIME has existed for 30+ years.
- HTML and CSS spec for email: https://www.caniemail.com
- Redoing the world is a non-starter, it avoids compatibility and avoids solving problems that exist now and instead recreates the same problem all over again.
- Caniemail.com (like caniuse but for email content)

Modern email design for web designers
Another client to test for is Google Mail, which can be done with a Gmail.com account. And Apple Mail, on any Apple device. Apple Mail provides the best email rendering so you don't even really need to worry about it much if you're covering the other two. But these three make up the main ones you should test for. And for checking compatibility of specific code, caniemail.com is an essential tool to use.

Effective email HTML and image handling
To our dismay, major platforms like Gmail do not support flexbox align-items, and there are no plans to include support for SVG (and don't get me started with outlook's desktop app, where even basic styles go very wrong). You can refer to an illustrative guide of what you can or can't do across email providers on Caniemail.

Be careful when using CSS, some properties like flex ⚠️ are not supported by all email clients. You can check this website to see which properties are supported by which email clients. Another solution is to use a CSS framework that will do the hard compatibility work for you. I use MJML, in my in-depth article about SES, I explain how to use it to create responsive emails.

The values [0, 15] represent 16 possible values, which is a power of 2.
The correct way to get an unbiased distribution from a sample of 2^x to a modulo that is not an even power of 2 is to use rejection sampling.
This is what RFC 6979 says to do https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc6979#section-3.2
But you can also see this technique in CSPRNG code; i.e. https://github.com/php/php-src/blob/d40726670fd2915dcd807673...

Learning Rust: A clean start
A little about me; I'm a web developer and have been for around 5 years, though I'd dabbled for years. I have experience with Perl and PHP but my day to day is JavaScript/TypeScript be it through NodeJS or ReactJS. I want to learn Rust for no specific reason other than it's fun to learn new things.

WebSocket vs. HTTP communication protocols
Consider a web application where requests are handled through NGINX as the web server and PHP as the dynamic backend language. Let’s say something in the application logic results in a fatal error or process termination. This doesn’t affect NGINX’s ability to serve a response to the client, which would most likely be an HTTP 503 - Service Unavailable message.

Where do React Server Components fit in the history of web development?
In the beginning, I used a technology called CGI to develop server applications written in Perl. This technology was later replaced by Microsoft’s ASP (Active Server Pages) and then PHP. PHP, which you may already know, is still powering over 77% of all the websites as of the time of writing (ever heard of WordPress?).
