Aside from that, amen. "Get a byte, get a byte, get a byte byte byte" is a breath of fresh air compared to MS documentation. The situation has improved--if only because we can go to StackOverflow and ask Jon Skeet for the answer--but in the bad old days (where you might as well be on a desert island with your MSDN DVDs) it was pure pain.

Microsoft should be releasing a file manager with tabs soon, but in the meantime you can try Files (you can find it on the MS Store or on their website). I’ve used it for months and I found it pretty useful and it has a beautiful UI.

I started looking for UI testing solutions for desktop applications. I quickly discarded expensive UI testing suites. WinAppDriver was very interesting, but one of the requirements was to add some kind of identifiers on every UI element that we wanted to interact with. This would have required a huge effort from the team.
