Project mention: Show HN: PikaTorrent, a modern, multi-platform, open source BitTorrent app | news.ycombinator.com | 2023-07-15Why bake libtransmission into the app instead of just using the transmission daemon's RPC?
What you've done actually makes it harder to use, because in order to configure any of transmission's settings (ports, connection/torrent connection limits, bandwith limits, etc) the user needs to dig around to find the transmission config folder and then manually edit JSON with a text editor - because your client doesn't expose any of transmissions numerous settings [1] to the user except for choosing the download folder.
I'm not sure why anyone would want to use this instead of Flood [2] or even old Transmission Web Control [3]

I have been using MP4 automator for over 5 years; https://github.com/mdhiggins/sickbeard_mp4_automator . I choose MP4 as it works on preety much any device i have ever tryied, H264, AAC stereo and AC3 5.1. Have also used Tdarr for H265 conversion; it really uses 35-50% less space for same quality (4k and I wasnt able to see difference).
The only way to add a search engine to Dtv is to use it in combination with the Jackett app. The wiki at https://github.com/SchizoDuckie/DuckieTV/wiki/Using-Jackett-with-DuckieTV gives details.
I use the fluent qbt theme for desktop personally https://github.com/witalihirsch/qBitTorrent-fluent-theme
4.5.2 i use this version https://github.com/userdocs/qbittorrent-nox-static
I just found a project called Unpackerr which sounds like an absolute dream for me, it would fix my unpacking issue. I have Truenas Core installed, and found a guide for installing on Truenas scale here. During the container configuration, you need to set up some environmental variables.. is this possible to do on Truenas Core?
Project mention: 'Impossible' to create AI tools like ChatGPT without copyrighted material, OpenA | news.ycombinator.com | 2024-01-08What do you mean "made up"?
The Arrs suite is definitely a thing, as are the other tools I talk about.
There's a reference docker that automates this whole toolchain https://github.com/AdrienPoupa/docker-compose-nas
WHats nice is that Prowlarr will scrape all the torrent sites for goodies to index, and your users in jellyfin can just request, and it just shows up.
You can even have a discord channel and the tools will announce when stuff's done.
Piracy is 10000x better than paying for continually worsening streaming (pile of shit).
You can use cross-seed to do it for you
Congrats on a great setup. So hard links are wonderful if you are a member of a private tracker because you can seed forever and still maintain a nice folder structure on your media as you probably know. If you are not using private trackers or do not want to seed forever may I point you to one more piece of the puzzle. https://github.com/StuffAnThings/qbit_manage
Project mention: Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a pirates life for me!! Recent streaming services, prices and shows getting butchered, finally decided its time. Here's how a basic self-hosted 'Netflix' would look like. Fully automated once its setup. Using only a makeshift homelab server from second hand parts. | /r/Piracy | 2023-07-06Yes. checkout out Ezarr
Project mention: I created UltimateHomeServer - A K3s based all-in-one home server solution | /r/selfhosted | 2023-05-28UltimateHomeServer - UltimateHomeServer is a user-friendly package of open-source services that combine to create a powerful home server, capable of replacing many of the services you may already be paying for.
